Brewed in the Old Water Works
When Chris Jones and Jack Martin opened Georgia Beer Co. in 2019, they didn't just start South Georgia's first craft brewery — they rescued a building. The historic Valdosta Water Works, dormant for years, became a taproom, a beer garden, and a gathering place that helped pull downtown back to life.
The beer is brewed on-site with fresh, local ingredients — IPAs, stouts, lagers, and seasonal ales that rotate through the taps. But the brewery was always about more than the pour. It was built as a 'third place,' apart from home and work, where Valdosta comes together for trivia nights, food trucks, live music, and the simple ritual of a cold pint with neighbors. The garden is family-friendly, and the dogs are welcome too.
